Fibrocystic breast changes are fairly common in many women, but are not cancer. Some women develop tougher, thicker, lumpier breast tissue than other women. One or more fluid cysts can develop, especially right before the start of a period. Sometimes, tougher 'balls' of rubbery tissue (solid cysts) also develop. These changes can add to the breast tenderness and lumpiness that you feel. |
